Hey Team!

I am so excited to meet you and capture some epic headshots with you guys!

I would recommend to read the following to best prepare for headshot day and ensure your pictures look as crisp and captivating as they can be.

What to wear:

Here are some suggestions when looking at your closet thinking “What the hell am I supposed to bring to this headshot day?!?” It is pretty close to opening your fridge in boredom knowing all too well you did not do any grocery shopping for the past decade.

Number one is to make sure that whatever you do decide to bring is ironed and clean. This may be shocking, tho in all honesty, individuals have shown up to their photoshoot removing a 3 day old T-shirt from that teeny tiny pocket on the side of their backpack—the one usually reserved for water bottles. so, just a friendly reminder to make sure what you are wearing is ironed and clean.

If your work demands a suit and tie look, make sure the shirt is tight fitted to avoid any creasing in the shot.

Solid color ties are recommended as to insure a clean looking headshot.

If you aren’t going to wear a suit and tie here are some recommendations with links to see examples:

Colors recommended

  • Dark colors

  • Blacks

  • Grays

  • Blues and Purples.

Colors to avoid:

  • Extremely bright colors (Red, Yellow, Orange…)

  • Highlighted colors

  • Complicating patterns.

Makeup

Try to leave the lashes and dark eyeshadow at home.  If you are getting your makeup done, tell the makeup artist you want a natural look—as little eyeliner as possible or eyelashes. Most importantly, you want to look like YOU.

I would also recommend ensuring your eyebrows look neat a headshot gets pretty up close and personal, eyebrows are one of the first things you see.

Having a lip gloss or chap stick on hand can go a long way!

Hydrate and get a good nights sleep! (Facemasks an extra fun way to look and feel great before your photoshoot!)

I may ask you what your favorite song is so have one in mind! Get a good night sleep.

I can't wait to meet and work with you all!!

Best,

Nechama
